Thanksgiving 2014

After returning from Mexico our plan was to have a bunch of friends and family over to help us celebrate our anniversary.  Shortly before leaving for Mexico we found out my sister & husband & my mom & dad were hoping to come help us celebrate as well.  Very exciting indeed - did not think we would get more family visiting from Ontario since many of them had just been in August for the wedding.  And little did they realize it was also our Thanksgiving - so instead of a quiet day without visitors we ended up with a nice group around the table for turkey dinner.

Trip to Mexico - November 2014

On November 18th, 2014 it was our 25th anniversary - and we are very thankful to God for the many blessings over the years.   We decided it was a great excuse to take a trip somewhere together and so we ended up going to Cancun, Mexico.  Seldom do we go with just the two of us - and it was a treat to just relax in the sun.  The accommodations were amazing and the weather was great as well.  Here are only a few photos - the rest are on Henry's phone.  Some day you might see more...

Vincent turns 4!! A day in his life...

Here are some random photos of Vincent these last few months.  I think he will be an actor or entertainer - he certainly knows how to pose and definitely keeps us laughing!  Vince also turned 4 on October 15th - he had a few kids over for his birthday party.

A visit from the Caver's

So a bit of catch-up on the blog again...  This past September Jake's Mom and Dad visited us for a day (Sunday).  It was a nice day and we decided that after church a trip up Mt. Baker sounded like a great idea.  We love having visitors because it gives us an excuse to go up - typically we just admire it in the background. We hiked (nothing too strenuous) and the view was amazing - an amazing handiwork of God.  We wrapped up our visit with a picnic dinner.  We're looking forward to another excuse to take them to a beautiful spot in the Pacific Northwest!

Jan & Jocelyn's Wedding - August 23, 2014

So the wedding day finally arrived - a perfectly sunny summer day!!  It was a wonderful day of celebration - we are so thankful that God brought these two together & we pray for a blessing on many years of happy married life.

White Water Rafting

So August 23rd finally came around after MUCH planning, shopping and more planning.  Several days before the wedding family from Ontario started to arrive.  Some of them stayed in a hotel in Aldergrove and some of them stayed at our place in campers.  We had a fantastic time together.  The day before the wedding our visiting family talked us into going white water rafting together on the Chilliwack river.  It was a great day and a great way to spend time with family before the busy wedding day.  It was hard to choose just a couple photos - what a blast!

Summer 2014

So this summer was the summer of our first wedding.  Jan & Jocelyn's wedding was planned for Aug. 23 and so it seemed everything was planned around that date.  We managed to meet Jake & Lorelle at our favorite campground in Winthrop and spent several days there boating on the lake.  This time we had a campsite right on the water with our little private beach in the background.  It was smoking hot as it usually is so we really just spent all the time in and around the water until it cooled off at night.  We spent an afternoon in Winthrop walking around and eating ice cream.  Good fun!
